Is someone trying to sell me something?

No. There are no policies sold, no commissions and no recommendation of a provider. "You do not need that" is also a valid answer. If we ever show offers from partners, we label them clearly and separate them from the explanations.

What are the explanations based on?

We research every topic in detail and only use high-quality sources. First come laws and authorities such as the Federal Office of Public Health, plus recognised specialist bodies. Under every explanation you see the sources and the date. What we cannot document cleanly, we leave out.

AI helps us with research and with writing. The calculators follow fixed rules and do not guess.

Is this page a translation?

Yes. This English version translates the German original. We compare figures, sources and dates with the original. If the two ever differ, the German version prevails.

Does this apply to me in Switzerland?

Yes. We only explain what applies in Switzerland, from federal laws to cantonal rules. Where a canton regulates something differently, we say so. Foreign law is not covered.

Is this advice?

No. The explanations are general and do not replace personal advice. Law and your policy are what counts. For a specific case, your insurer or an independent advice centre will help you.
